Hogue Wine Red Genesis Merlot - 750 Ml
The majority of Washingtons wine grapes are planted east of the Cascade Range in the Columbia Valley appellation, which encompasses the Yakima Valley and Walla Walla appellations. The Columbia Valley covers 18,000 square miles and provides a huge range of geographical and climatic conditions for grape growing. Hogue Cellars wine is made with grapes that have intense fruit flavors and high natural acidity, which is why it is one of the most recognized names in Washington wines. The Genesis Columbia Valley Merlot was racked and returned to barrels several times and aged for 6 to 12 months in American oak barrels. This merlot opens with plum, wild strawberry, cherry, cinnamon, vanilla, and hits of cocoa. Pair with braised short ribs, roast pork, or grilled salmon.
