It brims with black currant, violets, plum and black cherries with threads of honey, pipe tobacco, cedar, cloves and vanilla and leads to a full, velvety finish with fine-grained tannins and fresh, balanced acidity. This wine’s lush core of bright blackberry, toffee, dark cherry, cocoa, hazelnut and caramel complement its luscious full body, and it has expressive earthy and toffee notes on the mid-palate. The 2021 vintage received 91 points from James Suckling in December 2023. Following a maceration period to maximize color and flavor extraction and to polish the tannins, the wine is aged in 100% French oak barrels (30% new) for 19 months. This bottled wine has 14.2% alcohol by volume.
